Here at BATB, we’re getting serious about fitness.
I can’t even count the number of failed attempts at weight loss/fitness I’ve accrued. A very sedentary adolescence coupled with no sporting ability has resulted in quite a lacklustre view of fitness, despite having pretty rubbish body confidence. Recently amid what I can only describe as a quarter-life crisis, I decided I’m too young for my body to feel this way and have embarked on a huge health and fitness kick. My biggest problem is maintaining motivation, so what better way to kickstart the road to my goals than to spruce up my gym wardrobe! I’ve been adding to my collection for the past few months, and seem to have amassed quite a few (very girly) bits!
Nike Flex Supreme TR 2 Cross Trainers
You can pick up affordable gym gear everywhere, but one thing you shouldn’t skimp on is good trainers. The difference in support and comfort is immediate, and I got this cute black and pink pair for my birthday! They’re ultra lightweight, have breathable mesh sides and being a cross training shoe give great support across all exercise types. Love em!
K-Mart Gym Singlets
K-Mart have an awesome selection of gym gear in several colours and shapes, all of which I’ve found to be light and comfy. I own several of these singlets because they’re such a steal at about $9!
Adidas 3S Performance Small Team Bag
This was a little present from my other half after he sensed the colour theme in my gym attire! I absolutely love this bag- it’s not too big, has heaps of handy compartments (including one for your smelly shoes) and uber plush straps. I’m seriously obsessed.
D-fine 8 Zero, grape flavour
I’ve been a huge fan of this product for a long time, so was really keen to try their new zero sugar formulation. For supplement newbies, d-fine 8 is a thermogenic which acts to raise your core body temperature, boosting your metabolism and helping you burn more calories. It also gives you an incredible long-lasting energy burst without any crashes. I swear by this product and see vast differences in longevity and performance when I take it half an hour before exercise. I also tend to have it of a morning before uni to kick-start the day!
Cotton On Active Body K.I.R Bra
This is another example of finding great high street alternatives to expensive fitness store products. These bras from Cotton On are form-fitting and really comfortable thanks to foam padding that even extends to the straps, a must for weight training when you move your shoulders a lot. The racer back makes them really supportive, and the best part is they’re always on sale for $15-20.
K-Mart Leggings/ Adidas Climalite Response Leggings
2 leggings, 2 prices. I think it’s good to get some quality leggings simply for durability, and this Adidas pair are super snug, never ride up and are really breathable. If you’re a student or on a budget like me, supplementing these staples with items from the high-street like these K-Mart pink-bottomed leggings allow you to expand your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
Adidas Climalite Shorts
I’m not at the point of wanting to show of these legs just yet… but it’s getting warmer in Sydney, which means shorts are a necessity. I love these Adidas ones mainly because of the invisible in-built undies that keep the shorts adherent to your body without being tight. They’re also thin and breathable.
Pocket towel
I’m not here to plug my gym, but they make these really cute gym towels with in-built zipper pockets- perfect for storing your gym card or valuables as you work out. I’m sure you can find variations of these anywhere, otherwise they’re about $15 from most Fitness Firsts!
What are your fitness must-haves?
